11.19.15 NO COST/LOW COST ACTIVITIES FOR EVERY KINDERGARTEN CLASSROOM

A PLAN FOR PLAY:
NO COST/LOW COST ACTIVITIES FOR EVERY KINDERGARTEN CLASSROOM

1. Establishment a block center and the dramatic play center
2. Room arrangement conducive for Center Time and Circle Time
3. Linear Calendar
4. Line Leader Chart with clothes pins moving daily
5. Play plans (Plan, Do, Review)
6. Emphasize Daily Schedule/routines moving the clothespin with each activity
7. Give opportunities for choice (What center do you want to start in? Do you want to do the art project or the science project first?)
8. Activities that test themselves (climbing structures, balance beams, obstacle courses, etc.)
9. Games like Simon Says, Freeze Dance, Bingo, Lotto, Red Light/Green Light—do the right way, then change the rules where the child has to do the opposite.
10. Songs, rhymes, finger-games that count backwards (Five Little Monkeys), have repetition (She’ll Be Coming ‘Round the Mountain), have long list like (Alphabet Song, Supercalifragalistic), Row Row Row Your Boat sung as round.
